From Ponza to Palm Beach County

The restaurant's story began in 1976, when Raffaele and Maria Abbenante left Ponza, a small island off the coast of Italy, and settled in Lake Worth, where they started out selling pizza by the slice. Over the following decades the family built the business into one of the area's established Italian kitchens, and the Abbenante family continues to run the West Palm Beach location today. Maria Abbenante has said the recipes she prepares were passed down from her grandmother, Lynora, for whom the restaurant is named.

Inside what was previously a converted garage space, the West Palm Beach kitchen keeps things low-key, with both indoor tables and outdoor sidewalk seating for al fresco meals. A wood-fired brick oven anchors the kitchen, turning out Neapolitan-style pies alongside scratch-made pasta. Dishes have included spaghetti and meatballs, chicken and eggplant parmigiana, penne vodka, ricotta gnocchi, and pizzas topped with combinations like spinach, tomato, and goat cheese, rounded out by desserts such as tiramisu and cannoli.
