Lulu's traces its roots to the team behind Avalon, the acclaimed restaurant led by partner Curt Huegel. After Avalon's success, Huegel and four fellow partners decided to open a second concept in Delray Beach, choosing a name inspired by one of the partners' daughters. The restaurant took over the space previously occupied by Banyan, retaining the towering banyan tree that still shades much of the outdoor seating today.
