For Cheryl Schuette, the decision to enter massage and wellness began with something personal: building a future for her son.

As a single parent, when she was told to have another child if she wanted to stay on welfare, and told she was losing welfare benefits due to a 25-cent raise, she knew she needed a career, not just a job, that could support her family. She also wanted to improve her health and well-being. Those two motivations became the starting point for a practice that has grown over 30 years.

Today, that practice is known as Advanced Wellness of Tampa. People who first met Cheryl through Cheryl's Studio, then Advanced Massage and Colon Hydrotherapy, may recognize the earlier names and the growth of her practice. She wants the community to understand that her work extends beyond those two services.

During her interview with Voyuno, Cheryl made that point directly: “I don't just offer massage and colon hydrotherapy.”

A name that reflects more of the practice

Cheryl's preferred public name is Advanced Wellness of Tampa, LLC, and the business's website now uses it alongside its former name.

The published service menu includes Therapeutic Massage, Colon Hydrotherapy, Bioenergetic Testing, Kinesiology, BrainTap Sessions, Ion Foot Detox, Infrared/Green Light Mat, and Vibration Plate. Cheryl has also added GI stool testing by partnering with US Bio Tex Labs. The range helps explain why Cheryl wants the practice introduced more broadly. For visitors, it also makes discussing the available services an important part of deciding what to book. Business website · Service menu

Cheryl's own view of wellness is personal rather than occasional. She is currently in a PhD program studying the body at a quantum level. She wants people to see her work as more than a luxury appointment, and she brings that outlook to the way she talks with clients about their goals.

What a first visit feels like

Ask Cheryl what she would tell someone who feels nervous before a first appointment, and her answer comes back to explanation, breathing, and communication.

For someone arriving for colon hydrotherapy, she says she explains what they may experience so they are not caught by surprise. She encourages them to relax and focus on their breathing.

With massage, she emphasizes working together. She describes tailoring a session to the client's specific concerns and asking them to speak up about pressure and comfort. If the pressure feels too deep, she wants to hear about it.

That invitation to communicate matters to the picture Cheryl paints of her practice. A first-time visitor does not have to arrive knowing every service or feeling certain about what to expect. Asking questions is part of the conversation.

The reason behind the work

As the interview drew to a close, Cheryl returned to the reason she started: her son, the future she wanted to build for him, and her own well-being.

That story gives the broader business name a human connection. Advanced Wellness of Tampa reflects a practice shaped over many years by one person's work, family responsibilities, and a commitment to helping clients feel heard. Identifying the root cause of issues is an integrative process.

For those meeting Cheryl for the first time, her message is practical: tell her what brings you in, ask about the services that interest you, and keep communicating throughout the visit.
